About the Level 2 training

Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Level 2 is designed as a continuation of the foundations established in Level 1, expanding into the subtleties of teaching restorative yoga with greater clarity, confidence, and depth.

This training is for teachers looking to refine their ability to guide students into deeper states of rest while developing a more nuanced understanding of nervous system support, class facilitation, and energetic attunement within a group setting.

Participants will explore how restorative yoga can be adapted beyond heavily propped shapes, learning how to work with minimal props while still creating experiences of safety, support, and regulation. The training will also examine the role of sound, rhythm, silence, and pacing in restorative spaces, including the use of sound as a supportive therapeutic tool in restorative practice.

What You’ll Learn

  • Developing cueing and language that helps students settle more deeply into rest.
  • Exploring pacing, tone, rhythm, and the subtle ways a teacher’s presence shapes the room.
  • Teaching restorative yoga in group settings and learning how to work with different needs, energies, and experience levels within the same class.
  • Building restorative group class sequences while considering factors like class size, room layout, available props, season, time of day, and the overall energy of the group.
  • Learning how to teach effective restorative classes with fewer props and simpler setups.
  • Recognizing when students may be overstimulated, under-supported, emotionally activated, or needing a different approach.
  • Working with sound, silence, breath, and sensory elements as tools to support regulation and rest, including explorations with guest speakers on utilizing sound as a supportive therapeutic tool within restorative practice.
  • The training will also include practice teaching, observation, and group feedback to help teachers deepen their confidence in holding space for rest, vulnerability, emotional release, and community care.

Prerequisite

Completion of Restorative Yoga Level 1 Training with Cat is required to participate in Level 2.
