Intro to Yoga Workshop

Saturday, May 21 2pm — 4:15pm

with Sondra Sun in the gallery

This small-group, 2.25 hour workshop is for beginners and anyone who wishes to review the basics of yoga.

Have you been wanting to begin a yoga practice but intimidated by group classes? Join this intimate 2.25 hour workshop for beginners where you'll receive individual attention in a supportive, relaxed setting. Also great for anyone wanting a review of basic postures.

Sondra will introduce you to the practice of yoga and help build a foundation for feeling more confident in a group class or in your own practice.

We will cover

  • Brief background on what yoga is
  • Simple breathing exercises
  • Basic postures, step-by-step, focusing on proper alignment and foundations
  • Modification of postures to accommodate your unique body right where its at now

There will be time to ask questions and receive one-on-one attention.

Please note: While appropriate for those who have never done yoga before, this is not a therapeutic class and participants should be in good general health. Please contact the studio if you are unsure as to whether this class is appropriate for you.

How to prepare and what to bring

  • Please do not eat 2 hours before the workshop and wear loose comfortable clothes to class!
  • Please bring your own refillable water bottle. We have a water bottle refill station with filtered water available for use.
  • If you have a yoga mat, please bring one. If you do not have one, please let us know in advance by emailing and we will have a clean mat ready for you to borrow.
